America

With Independence Day approaching, I wanted to reflect on what it means to live in America.

There's the country of America, which you have to defend, but there's also the idea of America. America is more than just a country, it's an idea. An idea that's supposed to be contagious.

He will be missed. He left an impression on my life and I will never forget all the great music he has made.

Fireproof

I watched this movie for the first time this past weekend and I am still thinking about it! I just can't help it. It left such an impression. There were some slight "over acting" issues I had, but overall this movie is powerful and poignant. I laughed and cried but more importantly I realized the power of Christ in a marriage. The power of knowing His ultimate love and therefore sharing that love with your spouse. Once I am married, I hope my marriage will have Christ at its center.

I highly recommend this movie! Besides..."The Love Dare" (a book mentioned in the movie) has been working for many married couples! I would love to work with this movie company someday. Using film as a medium to spread the Gospel is such a great idea!

Dream Destination

It's time for another "Dream Destination"...

Location: India

Reason: India seems to be a magical place of history, beauty and profound sense of peace. I have been reading "Eat. Pray. Love." and feel the need to explore my inner self and India seems the perfect place to do it.

Appeal: It's a country that has beauty. The Taj Mahal is exquisite! India also believes in mediation and self-awareness. I need some of that.

Searching...

Now would seem like the time of year to catch up and finish all my unfinished writing projects...and yet I am still searching for that inspiration...that gleam of an idea that will turn my one-act into a piece of highly anticipated dramatic work...or something like that...

Maybe I should just simply brainstorm and eventually my storms will produce a weather of words to use...it's at least a thought, right? Something to try...for the time being.

Or I could begin a new project and maybe this new project will in turn bring up ideas that will eventually lead me to find my ending for my other two (attempts at) one-act plays.
