On Cloud 9

Ok...so last night I found out some pretty exciting news...which I am trying not to get too excited about because I do not want to get my hopes up.

But how can I help it????

Seriously, I have been in the BEST mood all day - even treated myself to a Green Tea Frap. this morning! I am feeling good and have realized that I am on a "Heart High"...

I am way too happy for my own good - it's like my heart is drugged up (but in a good and healthy way).

I wish everyone could feel what I am feeling - because... It. Is. Awesome!

Journey to Easter...

Lent is a journey for all of us to walk closer with Christ.

Easter is approaching and so we should be preparing our hearts for the glory of His love! Jesus has died and risen for me...for you...for ALL of us!

LENT is a beautiful time for me to reflect on all of my hardships and those times in my life where I fell short. I certainly am NOT perfect, but God knows how much I aim to please Him.

He created me in His likeness and has blessed me with a beautiful life so that I may give back to my fellow brothers and sisters. Charity has been my focus this Lenten Season and I feel I am moving forward and have been "giving" back.

How has this journey been going for you?

The Breakfast Club

Today I wanted to pay tribute to my favorite movie...

It is a classic 80's movie that has been my favorite ever since I saw it!

Here are some of my favorite quotes:

Bender: Screws fall out all the time, the worlds' an imperfect place.

Bender: Being bad feels pretty good, huh?

(Bender pretty much has all my favorite lines...haha)

And who could forget the classic ending...

"Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole saturday in detention for whatever it is we did wrong, but we think you're crazy for making us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us, in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out, is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basketcase, a princess, and a criminal. Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, The Breakfast Club."

Of course, I have a movie poster in my bedroom:

And further more, I adore Molly Ringwald! Who doesn't?!?!?

This movie just led me to more "Molly Movie Favorites" - 16 Candles & Pretty in Pink

Tiffany's

I am reading a book called "Sundays at Tiffany's"...which got me to thinking about the appeal of Tiffany's...

We all know and love the Tiffany&Co. turquoise box with the classic white ribbon...

And who could forget the movie starring Audrey Hepburn...

I am now enjoying the book "Sundays at Tiffanys"...

Oh how I long to walk in NYC and see the beautiful displays at Tiffany&Co.

Dream Destination

It's Friday and I am ready for the weekend. The weather looks promising and I am extremely hopeful that this weekend will prove to be fun, relaxing and the perfect end to my crazy week.

Feeling a little creative...I am going to upload photos of a destination that I would want to travel to this weekend, if I had money and time, etc.

Think of it as a dream destination...

Location: Ireland

Reason: Being it's still March, I am very much in the "green" spirit and Ireland has a beautiful lush green landscape. Besides, I am always up for going to Europe.

Appeal: Not only will I be able to enjoy the landscape, but I will also soak in a piece of my own family history...

Even though I will not be getting a stamp in my passport this weekend, I can still enjoy the thought of it happening soon!

Psalm 91

I am very proud to be a Marine's sister. My brother left this past Saturday in the early hours of the morning to go off for 7 months and fight. Of course I am praying for him... and in praying for my brother I also become very nervous...I want him to be safe and out of harms way and so I turn to Psalm 91. I say this prayer for my brother and for all of our servicemen and women who fight everyday for our freedom.

Psalm 91

You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,

Say to the LORD, "My refuge and fortress, my God in whom I trust."

God will rescue you from the fowler's snare, from the destroying plague,

Will shelter you with pinions, spread wings that you may take refuge; God's faithfulness is a protecting shield.

You shall not fear the terror of the night nor the arrow that flies by day,

Nor the pestilence that roams in darkness, nor the plague that ravages at noon.

Though a thousand fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, near you it shall not come.

You need simply watch; the punishment of the wicked you will see.

You have the LORD for your refuge; you have made the Most High your stronghold.

No evil shall befall you, no affliction come near your tent.

For God commands the angels to guard you in all your ways.

With their hands they shall support you, lest you strike your foot against a stone.

You shall tread upon the asp and the viper, trample the lion and the dragon.

Whoever clings to me I will deliver; whoever knows my name I will set on high.

All who call upon me I will answer; I will be with them in distress; I will deliver them and give them honor.

With length of days I will satisfy them and show them my saving power.

50th Post

Being that this post marks my 50th post, I decided to break out the 50s...

We all love the number 50 when it applies to dollar bills -

Goodness...seeing that makes me realize how I need more money in my life.

Fifty is a big deal. When you turn fifty, most people view that as "old," but I view it has having lived a good part of your life. And hopefully, lived it well. Fifty holds wisdom.

Fifty is even fun when it is written with a fun little accent -

And let's face it...who wouldn't love to have this address:

In honor of the number 50 - a five and a zero - I will give five reasons why I am happy today and zero reasons why I would be sad.

5. I have been blessed with another day. A new day. A beautiful day.

4. I just got a coupon for 30% off: good for either GAP, Banana Republic, Old Navy or Piperlime

3. I am going out tonight after work.

2. I am off tomorrow.

1. I got to listen to "1234" by the Plain White Ts today at work.

Therefore, I am not sad today. :)

Historic Landmark

I am working for the Virginia Stage Company, which is housed inside the Wells Theatre. This theater is a historic landmark for Norfolk and has been around for over 95 years. We are in our 30th Anniversary Season of doing theater productions. Here are some photos of the theater so you can take a look too...

As you can see, this theater is beautiful! Norfolk is so privileged to have such a beautiful space to see great Regional Theater!

Plain White Ts

I absolutely love the NEW Plain White Ts Song: "1234"!!!!!

And the video is precious! Great job guys! It's clever, cute and wonderful!

Here are the lyrics...

1-2-1-2-3-4
Give me more loving than I’ve ever had
Make me feel better when I’m feeling sad
Tell me I’m special even though I know I’m not
Make me feel good when I hurt so bad
Barely getting mad
I’m so glad I found you
I love being around you
You make it easy
Its as easy as 1-2-1-2-3-4
There’s only one thing
To Do
Three words
For you
(I love you) I love you
There’s only one way to say
Those three words
That’s what I’ll do
(I love you) I love you
Give me more loving from the very start
Piece me back together when I fall apart
Tell me things you never even tell your closest friends
Make me feel good when I hurt so bad
You’re the best that I’ve had
And I’m so glad I found you
I love being around you
You make it easy
It’s easy as 1-2-1-2-3-4
There’s only one thing
To Do
Three words
For you
(I love you) I love you
There’s only one way to say
Those three words
That’s what I’ll do
(I love you) I love you
(I love you) I love you
You make it easy
It’s easy as 1 2 1 2 3 4
There’s only one thing
To Do
Three words
For you
(I love you) I love you
There’s only one way to say
Those three words
That’s what I’ll do
(I love you) I love you
(I love you) I love you
1-2-3-4
I love you
(I love you) I love you

Milkshake

I just had a very delicious milkshake from Johnny Rockets! I had the Chocolate Peanut Butter Butterfinger shake and LOVED it! Seriously...one of the BEST milkshakes I have ever had! I treated myself to shake and I think you should too! Everyone should treat yourself to a milkshake every now and then.

Transfiguration

Can you even imagine?!?!? Seeing Christ transfigured would have been absolutely amazing! To have been one of lucky apostles...wow!

Audrey Quote

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”

---Audrey Hepburn

If All The World's A Stage...

There is an expression that I love to use...

"If All The World's A Stage, Then I Want Better Lighting!"

How very true! There are moments in my life where I feel like the lighting designer has forgotten to give me lights on stage. Other times, I know I am center stage! :) Those moments are always my favorite...

But then again...I need to take charge and make sure that I am where the light always is...

Not only is it important to be seen, but to also be heard. For what good is it to be seen if you have nothing to say?!?!

Anxiously Awaiting...

I am in serious need for warmer weather so I can read on the beach.

Sun. Sand. Book. Fun.

It will be a highlight in my summer to have beach reading time.

What am I looking forward to reading? Not sure which books to have with me by the shores? What book will go perfectly with the echo of tossing waves? Any ideas?!?!?!

And the countdown begins to my "fun-in-the-sun-reading" adventures...
